Job summary

Curtiss-Wright EMD in Cheswick, PA is seeking a Junior Quality Engineer to support design and manufacture of critical-function products for government programs. The role emphasizes QA data packages, audits, and translating customer requirements into manufacturing instructions, with DoD security considerations.

Required BS in engineering, US citizenship, ability to obtain security clearance, and 5+ years in manufacturing; Six Sigma belt is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering or related technical degree.
• US citizenship required due to DoD requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Auditing experience is an asset.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt / Green Belt certifications desired.
• Ability to read and understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (ASME Y14.5) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in internal and external audits, surveillances, and inspections.
• Assist in translation of customer or regulatory requirements into manufacturing instructions.
• Provide technical support to inspectors and operators.
• Perform analysis of production data to create reports and identify trends.
• Participate in root cause analysis to implement corrective actions as needed.
• Identifies potential project or supplier quality issues.
• Review, evaluate, and respond to customer and/or supplier correspondence.
• Strong communication skills within a team setting to ensure quality standards are met.

We are looking for Junior Quality Engineer to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location!

Your Responsibilities

Curtiss-Wright EMD is searching for Quality Engineers to support its Quality Team in the design and manufacture of EMD’s highly engineered products. Since 1952 Curtiss Wright EMD has been integral to the US Navy’s nuclear propulsion program. You will play an important role by helping to implement the quality assurance program to support design, and manufacture ensuring product standards.

Salary: $59,700 to $86,300 per year
