Quality Engineering – Long-Term Contract

Location: Hybrid in Newark, NJ

Rate: $65 on W2 and $70 hr on C2C.

Overview:

Test manually and via automation. Should know Java well and be able to create Selenium scripts independently.

The individual will design, create, test, and deploy test-driven solutions across multiple technology domains. Candidate must demonstrate strong logical and creative problem-solving abilities, good oral and written communication, and excellent analytical skills.

• Designing, writing, and executing automated test scripts using Selenium & Cucumber for API Automation
• Maintaining and enhancing existing automated test scripts and frameworks to improve test efficiency and coverage
• Well versed with UI & back-end automation testing
• Contributing to the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes by integrating automated tests into build pipelines
• Keeping up to date with industry trends and best practices in test automation and applying them to improve test development & execution processes
• Developing Quality Management plans and test strategy for each sprint/release, review test plans and conduct peer reviews of plans & test cases
• Working with Product Owners to ensure business requirements are adequate & ensure test cases are developed according to standards for both manual and automated
• Update Quality Tools with requirement traceability, test cases, test sets, and defects according to QA standards & report status on the QA review report
• Hands-on test creation and execution of user stories (Smoke, Functional Integration, Regression testing) and logging defects
• Assisting Testing with other groups for Non-functional QA phases (Performance, Security, Accessibility)
• Provide guidance around QA strategies, proactive governance, and risk management for overall quality delivery of platform applications. Working collaboratively across scrum teams and testing team for our partner BUs to ensure success by applying best practice principles and techniques
• Collaborate with the Product and Development teams to create user stories, define acceptance criteria, and build test plans
• Maintain existing tests and write manual and automated tests while features are being developed. Able to create test scripts and manage existing automation scripts using Java Selenium framework
• Being proactive and able to keep testing framework up to date and come up with all test scenarios for both manual and automation testing

Education and Experience

• B.S./B.A. or M.A./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years overall experience for the execution and control of all aspects of testing
• Expertise in web-based and mobile testing, knowledge of J2EE applications testing
• Experience with testing RESTful micro-services architecture on the cloud
• Experience with software development languages such as Java
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber
• Understanding of cloud database, NoSQL concepts (DynamoDB, Aurora), including caching (ElastiCache) and SQL for RDBMS

Technical Qualifications

• Good working knowledge of test automation processes, concepts, and tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JMeter, FitNesse, Postman, SoapUI, Protractor, Cucumber, and Typescripting
• Experience with multiple development methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid) & different tools (JIRA, Confluence, MIRO)
• Experience with ETL (e.g., DataStage, Informatica) data sourcing, transformation, and validation
• Experience with REST API automation
• Experience with Unix and scripting
• Experience with developing and executing fast test scripts that are easily reusable and maintainable
• Experience with Jenkins and integrating into CI/CD pipelines
• Working knowledge with the following AWS and technologies: Lambda, DynamoDB, Mongo, Glue, Athena, Parquet file format
