Jet Propulsion Laboratory seeks a Quality Assurance Electrical Engineer to oversee QA/QC for facilities design and construction, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70 NEC, CEC, and JPL design standards.
The role involves evaluating constructability, maintainability, and long‑term reliability of electrical systems, coordinating with architects and engineers, and guiding design reviews to uphold safety and performance.
The Facilities and Logistics Operations Division (6400) oversees the physical development, maintenance, and safe operation of JPL’s infrastructure. Within this division, the Facilities Engineering & Construction Section (641) provides planning, design, engineering, and construction services for Facilities Construction Projects. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Electrical Engineer within the Engineering & Design Group, a core professional role in the Standards and Compliance (S&C) sub‑team. The position focuses on technical review and permitting of facilities design and construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to building codes, JPL facilities design standards, and evaluating projects for constructability, maintainability, and sustainability.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline with a minimum of 9 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree in a similar discipline with a minimum of 7 years of related experience, or a PhD in a similar discipline with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Must have QA/QC experience and design review of moderately complex building or facilities projects. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical building systems, applicable codes, and industry best practices. Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate construction drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation. Demonstrated ability to work independently with efficiency and sound professional judgment. Proficiency with Bluebeam; working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
Salary range: $146,328 - $175,032 (annual, full‑time equivalent) for the Pasadena, California location.
