Job summary

J & K Manufacturing Inc. in Paramount, CA is seeking a Quality Assurance Documentation Specialist to manage controlled documents for customer, engineering and quality specs, ensuring AS9100 compliance and audit readiness.

Responsibilities include revision control, document lifecycle management, certification packet preparation, FAIR creation, and collaboration with engineering, production and quality teams to resolve documentation discrepancies while supporting continuous improvement and data

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of document control experience in aerospace manufacturing or a regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in document control systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow up on multiple tasks/projects

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate revision control for customer, engineering, and quality specifications.
  • Manage the complete document lifecycle, including creation, review, approval, distribution, and archival.
  • Track and retrieve updated material and process certifications.
  • Prepare and compile certification packets.
  • Maintain, review, and control final router packets.
  • Create and review First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9100.
  • Support audit preparation for AS9100 compliance.
  • Gather and organize data for Corrective Actions (CARs) and Nonconformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Ensure timely updates to specifications, drawings, and other technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality staff to resolve documentation discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized and secure document control systems in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including 5S and process optimization.
  • Communicate promptly with internal customers regarding discrepancies in documentation and data gaps.
  • Communicate production status, documentation requests, and follow-ups to internal and external customers.

** This position will support an aerospace/defense customer account that requires United States citizenship.

We are currently hiring a Quality Assurance Documentation Specialist. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining all controlled documents related to customer, engineering, and quality specifications. This position ensures compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements while supporting operational efficiency. The role is critical to maintaining revision accuracy, timely updates, and complete audit readiness.

** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**

  • Maintain accurate revision control for customer, engineering, and quality specifications.
  • Manage the complete document lifecycle, including creation, review, approval, distribution, and archival.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in document control within aerospace manufacturing or a regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in document control systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow up on multiple tasks/projects

** PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**

  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods in noisy and temperature-variable environments.
  • Use of hands and fingers to touch, handle, grip, feel, and grasp.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, and/or move up to 15 pounds when crane is not available.
  • Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK SCHEDULE:

We observe a 4/10 alternative work schedule. We work four 10-hour days totaling 40 hours.

** First Shift Schedule:** 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday. Flexibility to work overtime on Fridays 5:00 AM to 1 PM as needed.
