Job summary

SkyWest is seeking a Remote Quality Assurance Auditor to conduct CASS and other audits for maintenance operations, with regular travel to sites. You will plan schedules, review findings, and report results using the company’s quality management system.

Ideal candidates have strong written and verbal communication, experience with FAA regulations, and the ability to manage multiple assignments remotely while meeting deadlines. This is a DOT safety-sensitive role requiring travel.

Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and report preparation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to learn and utilize quality management, audit, and database software.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, airline maintenance programs, manuals, and procedures.
  • Experience interpreting manuals, procedures, Ops Specs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of auditing principles, root cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective action processes.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Lead Quality Assurance Auditor and works under the direction of Quality Assurance leadership.
  • Conducts Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) audits in accordance with FAA regulations, company manuals, and departmental procedures.
  • Performs internal, external, special, and allocated audits of maintenance operations, facilities, processes, vendors, and service providers.
  • Plans and coordinates audit schedules, travel, and audit activities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluates compliance, documents audit results, and prepares audit reports using approved quality management systems.
  • Reviews corrective actions and follows findings through resolution and closure.
  • Assists in the administration and continuous improvement of the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS).
  • Analyzes audit and surveillance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by Quality Assurance leadership.

Primary Job Duties

Minimum Requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Experience in Part 121 airline maintenance operations.
  • Experience conducting audits of maintenance providers, repair stations, fuel vendors, or aviation service providers.
  • Level III 1A Authorization under C.A.S.E. procedures.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, surveillance, and compliance programs within the aviation industry.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Previous supervisory, lead, or management experience.
Physical and Other Requirements
  • This is a remote position that requires regular systemwide travel, typically 2-4 days per week.
  • Must be able to perform all physical requirements and essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation
    • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
