Job summary

Autocar, LLC is seeking a Quality Manager (QA/QC) to lead quality across our manufacturing operation in Hagerstown, IN. This role will drive continuous improvement, build a strong quality culture, and ensure high-quality products for customers.

You will lead a team of quality professionals, partner with engineering, operations, and supply chain, and own root cause analysis, CAPA, audits, and quality systems implementations to reduce defects and improve performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, Quality, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001, IATF/TS16949 (preferred).
  • Familiarity with tools such as SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, RCA, CAPA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across the plant
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Establish and maintain inspection standards, testing procedures, and quality systems
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is embedded in design, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and reduce defects and scrap
  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of quality engineers and inspectors
  • Oversee calibration systems and testing equipment reliability

You will lead a team of quality professionals and work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain to resolve issues, improve processes, and deliver reliable, high-quality products to our customers.

What You Will Own

Work Environment

  • Primarily based in a manufacturing plant, with some office work
  • Exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
  • Occasional travel for supplier visits and audits

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear required PPE (respirators, safety gear, etc.)
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain active throughout the shift
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and using inspection tools
  • Visual acuity for reading blueprints and performing inspections

Work Environment: This position operates in both an office setting and a manufacturing plant environment, requiring regular interaction with employees across all areas of the business.
