Job summary

Gradiant Corporation in Woburn, MA is seeking a Quality Assurance and Quality Control Engineer to ensure that materials, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities meet project specifications, client requirements, and quality standards.

You will develop quality documentation, conduct inspections, coordinate with clients and third-party inspectors, and drive project success with a focus on quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Certified Welding Inspector qualification, such as CSWIP 3.1 or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
  • Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in semiconductor, wastewater treatment, construction, or EPC project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards, including ASME, ASTM, AWS, API, and ISO requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project kick-off meetings, pre-fabrication meetings, pre-inspection meetings, and client meetings to review quality requirements and provide technical support.
  • Prepare, review, and implement project quality documentation, like Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Control Procedures, Method Statements, Welding Procedures Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), Welder Qualification Test Records (WQT/WPQ), Test Procedures, Audit Documents, Manufacturing Record Books (MRB), Orange Tag, Green Tag and Blue Tag Documents.
  • Develop and maintain project quality plans in accordance with client specifications and applicable international standards.
  • Coordinate and conduct inspections for incoming materials, fabrication, installation, welding, coating, testing, and final acceptance activities.
  • Monitor subcontractors’ activities and attend the inspection to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Review material certificates, test reports, calibration certificates, test pack document and quality records for compliance.
  • Prepare and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, preventive actions, and root cause analyses
  • Plan, assign, and supervise QA/QC inspectors' workloads and provide training and mentoring to new inspectors.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits conducted by clients or certification bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Participate in Piping pre-line walk, painting inspection, hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, pressure testing, leak testing, punch closing and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all inspection and testing records are properly documented, maintained, and submitted to clients.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Role Overview

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all materials, fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, applicable codes, standards, and quality management systems. The role involves developing quality documentation, conducting inspections, coordinating with clients and third-party inspectors, and ensuring successful project execution with the highest quality standards.
