Job Summary
The Integration Technologies department at our client company provides test pattern-based integration and end-to-end testing for all major cross-functional portfolio projects as well as SDIT technology domains. Teams within this department support external and internal development partners for all portfolio testing needs.
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst on the Business Support Systems testing team, this person will be responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. This role will be involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation, test execution and defect triage. Additionally, this role will work on projects of moderate to high complexity within one or more development environments. This person will work on multiple programs/systems as a project team member and will be considered a subject matter expert for a single program/system.
Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end integration testing across multiple applications, APIs, databases, middleware platforms, and web services supporting our client's customer ordering and account management systems
- Analyze business requirements and user stories to develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and testing strategies for new product enhancements and releases
- Execute functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate customer-facing experiences and business workflows before deployment to production
- Validate customer ordering journeys, including service upgrades, downgrades, account changes, billing-related transactions, and digital customer experiences
- Investigate and troubleshoot defects by analyzing API requests/responses, reviewing application behavior, and examining underlying system integrations
- Log, track, prioritize, and participate in defect triage activities while partnering closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution
- Perform data validation using SQL queries and backend systems to verify transaction accuracy and system functionality
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, identify risks, and ensure quality throughout the SDLC
- Identify edge cases, integration gaps, and customer-impacting issues by applying strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Communicate testing status, risks, and quality metrics to project stakeholders throughout the testing lifecycle
- Support and troubleshoot automated test execution and contribute to test automation initiatives where applicable
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Solid understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies, testing processes, and Agile/Scrum delivery practices
- Hands-on experience testing web-based applications, APIs, and backend databases using SQL
- Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles and testing best practices
- Experience with testing and troubleshooting tools such as Postman, SOAP UI, Splunk, JIRA, ALM Octane, or similar platforms
- Ability to develop test plans, execute test strategies, and effectively manage defects through resolution
- Experience supporting or developing automated test solutions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, Developers, and cross-functional teams
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with test automation frameworks, particularly Java and Selenium
- Exposure to AI-powered testing tools, automation solutions, or emerging AI technologies within the software development lifecycle
- Prior experience in the telecommunications, cable, media, or subscription services industries
- Familiarity with complex enterprise environments that support customer ordering, account management, billing, or digital self-service platforms
