REDWOOD LOGISTICS is seeking a Quality Associate/Auditor to ensure SQF and regulatory compliance across warehouse operations. The role includes internal audits, CAPA tracking, and collaboration with operations to sustain food safety programs.

You will verify documentation, support recalls and traceability, and participate in SQF and customer audits. On-site, full-time, with opportunities for growth in a leading freight tech-enabled logistics company.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food safety, warehouse quality, or quality assurance.
  • Experience with SQF certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with SQF Code, HACCP, GMPs, and FSMA.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct internal SQF audits across warehouse operations.
  • Verify compliance with SQF Code, FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and customer requirements.
  • Audit receiving, storage, inventory handling, shipping, sanitation, pest control, and maintenance.
  • Investigate quality concerns, customer complaints, and food safety incidents.
  • Document audit findings and issue corrective action requests; verify CAPA effectiveness.
  • Assist with root cause investigations using structured problem solving.
  • Prepare reports and communicate audit results to management.

Purpose of Your Work:

As Quality Associate/Auditor working within Redwood Distribution, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) Code requirements, customer quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies throughout warehouse and distribution operations. This position conducts internal audits, verifies food safety and quality programs, identifies areas for improvement, and works with operations to maintain compliance with SQF certification and applicable food safety regulations.

How You Make a Difference Everyday:
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled internal SQF audits throughout warehouse operations.
  • Verify compliance with the SQF Code, FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP principles, customer requirements, and company procedures.
  • Audit receiving, storage, inventory handling, shipping, sanitation, pest control, maintenance, and employee practices.
  • Verify compliance with food defense, food fraud, allergen control, traceability, and recall procedures.
  • Perform routine inspections of warehouse conditions, equipment, and employee practices.
  • Review operational records including:
    • Sanitation records
    • Pest control reports
    • Equipment inspections
    • Receiving and shipping documentation
  • Investigate quality concerns, customer complaints, and food safety incidents.
  • Document audit findings and issue corrective action requests.
  • Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assist with root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methods.
  • Prepare reports and communicate audit results to management.
  • Participate in SQF certification audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain audit schedules and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDPs).
  • Conduct employee food safety observations and coaching.
  • Assist in maintaining the Food Safety Plan and supporting prerequisite programs.
  • Support mock recalls and traceability exercises.
  • Recommend continuous improvement opportunities to strengthen food safety systems.
You’ve Got This?
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in food safety, warehouse quality, or quality assurance.
  • Experience with SQF certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of:
    • SQF Food Safety Code
    • HACCP
    • GMPs
    • FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)
    • Sanitation programs
    • Warehouse operations
  • PCQI certification is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct objective audits and inspections.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and quality standards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent walking throughout warehouse facilities.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders when necessary.
  • Occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Exposure to forklifts and warehouse equipment.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work during audits or business needs.

Work Schedule:

This position is full-time and onsite Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM PST with an hour break, but flexibility is available based on coverage.

Compensation Range:

Salary Range:

$43,500 - $52,000

This position is eligible to earn annual incentives based on individual and company performance.

The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the geographical location in which the applicant lives and/or which they will be performing the job.
