Job summary

Toyota Tsusho America, Inc. seeks a Quality Assistant Project Manager to oversee the end-to-end quality lifecycle for automotive part development, ensuring Tier 1 delivery excellence for OEM launches.

You will lead the alignment between customers and suppliers to maintain mass production stability and supply chain integrity. As the primary lead for quality milestones, you will manage PPAP lifecycles and drive Kaizen initiatives to improve production efficiency and defect resolution, reporting to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in quality systems, engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years in Quality Control or Process Engineering.
  • APQP experience and IATF certification preferred.
  • Familiar with 8D, PDCA, 5-Whys, and 4Ms problem-solving tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize quality control workstreams for part production in alignment with new car projects and production preparation plans.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of comprehensive quality-related documentation and technical reports required for OEM milestones.
  • Direct and execute supplier quality audits to ensure rigorous adherence to global quality standards and project-specific requirements.
  • Serve as the quality lead for individual local production projects, ensuring all quality gates are met from development through mass production.
  • Manage high-impact relationships with customers and suppliers; facilitate strategic meetings to ensure technical alignment and strengthen long-term partnerships.

Summary

Role will serve as the primary lead for quality project milestones, ensuring all deliverables meet OEM standards, managing PPAP lifecycles, and spearheading Kaizen initiatives to drive sustainable production efficiency and defect resolution.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in quality systems, engineering required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in areas of Quality Control or Process Engineering
  • Experienced with APQP activity and IATF certification preferred
  • Knowledge of 8D, PDCA, 5-whys, 4Ms problem solving tools preferred
