Qualifications

Quality Analyst I (2nd Shift 1:00PM - 9:30PM)

The purpose of this position is to monitor and perform various tests to ensure the juice product is maintained within preset specifications. This role is responsible for ensuring Food Safety and Safety programs are followed according to company, FDA, FSSC, Organic, and OSHA requirements and support all laboratory functions as needed. In the absence of a supervisor or manager, this position will take the lead for the shift to ensure that the Quality personnel are staying on task and that all tasks are being performed correctly and timely. This position will communicate to Managers or supervisors if there are deviations and work with other departments to resolve any issues.

• Knowledge of food and beverage manufacturing quality systems, GMPs, food safety practices, and sanitation requirements.
• Ability to perform routine laboratory and in-process testing accurately and consistently, including evaluation of product against established specifications.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, document, communicate, and lift-quality or food safety deviations.
• Ability to interpret specifications, procedures, work instructions, and quality records and apply them consistently on the production floor.
• Effective problem-solving and root-cause thinking with the ability to partner with Production, Processing, Sanitation, Maintenance, and other departments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
• Ability to prioritize multiple quality activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and provide shift leadership when needed.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter, review, and maintain quality data and records.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Monitor production and processing activities to verify juice products are produced within established quality, food safety, and product specifications.
• Collect samples and perform required laboratory, in-process, and finished-product testing; accurately document results and communicate out-of-specification findings.
• Complete quality checks, inspections, and verification activities according to approved procedures, frequencies, and documentation requirements.
• Place product or materials on hold when required, assist with evaluation of nonconforming product, and support disposition and corrective-action activities.
• Verify compliance with GMPs, sanitation, allergen, food safety, and other applicable quality programs throughout the manufacturing process.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely quality records to support traceability, audits, regulatory requirements, and the site food safety system.
• Support investigations of quality deviations and customer or internal quality concerns by gathering data, identifying trends, and participating in root-cause and corrective-action activities.
• Communicate quality issues promptly to Quality leadership and appropriate operational leaders and partner cross-functionally to resolve issues while protecting product integrity.
• Support calibration, verification, cleanliness, and proper use of laboratory and quality testing equipment as assigned.
• Support internal, customer, certification, and regulatory audits by maintaining audit-ready records and following established quality systems.
• When a supervisor or manager is unavailable, help coordinate Quality shift activities, ensure assigned tasks are completed correctly and on time, and elevate significant deviations.
• Follow all company safety, food safety, FDA, FSSC, Organic, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory and certification requirements.

Key Performance Indicators:

• Completion of required quality checks and testing accurately and on time.
• Accuracy and completeness of quality records, laboratory results, and production documentation.
• Timely identification, escalation, and documentation of out-of-specification conditions and quality deviations.
• Compliance with GMP, food safety, sanitation, regulatory, certification, and internal quality requirements.
• Effective management and documentation of product holds, nonconformances, and corrective actions within established timelines.
• Audit readiness, including timely closure of assigned findings or corrective actions.
• Reduction of repeat quality issues through effective investigation, communication, and follow-through.
• Reliable shift support, including completion of assigned Quality activities and effective cross-functional communication.

Education/Experience:

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of experience in quality, laboratory, food/beverage manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and support the assigned shift, including overtime as business needs require.

Preferred:

• Associate degree or higher in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Quality, or a related field.
• 2+ years of quality assurance/quality control experience in food or beverage manufacturing.
• Experience with GMPs, HACCP or preventive controls, FSSC 22000 or another GFSI-recognized food safety system, FDA requirements, and Organic programs.
• Experience with laboratory testing, quality data systems, audits, nonconformance investigations, and corrective actions.
