Job summary

Orscheln Products in Missouri is seeking a Quality Inspector to support the implementation of quality processes and ensure zero defects in manufactured components. The role focuses on inspections, measuring equipment calibration, and adherence to 6S and safety standards.

Preferred candidates will have a high school diploma with ASQ or equivalent experience and at least two years in manufacturing engagement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or ASQ certification or equivalent job experience preferred.
  • Two (2) years of manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform safety-critical inspections to ensure parts meet designated specs and compliance with government regulations.
  • Recognize and interpret critical characteristic symbols on blueprints.
  • Inspect parts, products and processes using fixed or variable measuring instruments to ensure conformance.
  • Support calibration and accuracy evaluation of production, measuring, and test equipment.
  • Contribute to methods and standards for inspection, testing, and evaluation to meet customer requirements.
  • Conduct floor inspections and process audits as required.
  • Follow all 6S & Safety Guidelines (Safety, Sort, Straighten, Scrub, Standardize, Sustain).

Summary

Support the implementation of quality processes that are designed to achieve zero defective components in manufacturing. Provide additional quality support services for the facility as required to support organizational goals and initiatives.

Preferred Educational Experience

High school diploma, ASQ certification or equivalent job experience preferred.

Preferred Work Experience

Two (2) years of manufacturing experience preferred.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to perform all safety critical functions. The product must be built to the designated specs approved and can not be deviated or substituted. The control, performance and tolerance are essential for the part to function so that it does not jeopardize public safety or it’s compliance with government regulations.
  • Must be able to recognize and call the critical characteristic symbols as listed on the blueprints.
  • Inspects parts, products and/or processes to ensure conformance with standards by utilizing fixed or variable measuring instruments.
  • Support programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production, measuring, and test equipment (gauge calibration).
  • Support implemented methods and standards for inspection, testing, and evaluation to meet customer requirements.
  • Floor inspection and process audits as required.
