Job summary

AMOT Controls is seeking a Quality Analyst to support supplier and internal manufacturing processes in Houston. The role emphasizes data collection/analysis of failures, non-conforming material, and calibration recordkeeping to ensure quality and process improvements.

The successful candidate will maintain ISO 9001:2015 compliant records, assist with conformance documentation, and drive corrective actions across manufacturing and supplier networks.

Qualifications

  • Familiar with measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and basic metrology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with emails and Word/PowerPoint.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills for electronic files and records.
  • Experience with QA processes and data analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes data on supplier and internal failures, and RFAs.
  • Maintains calibration records and coordinates supplier-related inspections.
  • Supports POs by creating conformance documents with assembly data.
  • Tracks corrective actions and ensures timely implementation and verification.

Job description

Essential Tasks & Duties

Works closely with Customer Service, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering in the following functions:

  • Collects and analyzes data related to supplier failures, internal manufacturing failures and RMA failures from customers
  • Controls internal defects and performs analysis and appropriate disposition of manufacturing scrap.
  • Supports customer purchase orders by creating conformance documents with actual data gathered during the assembly process.
  • Tracks corrective action items, ensuring timely implementation and verify effectiveness
  • Organizes weekly, monthly, bi-annual meetings / conference calls for purposes of information sharing, brainstorming and decision-making. Maintains meeting agenda / minutes and action items tracker
  • Works closely with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service & Sales to arrive at corrective and preventive actions for defects
  • Conducts periodic process audits of manufacturing processes to facilitate continuous improvements
  • Co-ordinates return of failures to suppliers through non-conforming process, follows up for corrective actions / implementation and ensure effectiveness
  • Identifies and drives continuous process improvement activities globally for the company
  • Conducts first article inspection approval for new part numbers or change in supplier, as necessary.
  • Coordinates and facilitates calibration, both on-site along with sending instruments to outside vendor.
  • Maintains calibration records for the site in compliance with ISO9001:2015.
  • Other duties may be assigned to execute effective reinforcement and coaching disciplines

Qualifications

  • Familiar with using measurement equipment. Calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, thickness gauges, pressure and leak measurement instruments.

  • Organizes and maintains electronic files so supplier and customer supporting materials are easily retrievable
Education & Experience

Two-year technical degree and / or two years' experience as a Quality Analyst or equivalent combinations of skills and experience is needed. Specific skill requirements include excellent oral and written communication skills, and proven teamwork ability. Foreign language skills is a plus. Must have basic understanding of statistics.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts addition and basic statistical analysis like computing averages, frequency distributions, Pareto analysis and plot histograms, bar, line and pie charts.

Computer Skills

Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, MRP platforms and Statistical software.

Reasoning Ability

Proven problem-solving ability. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
