Job summary

The Center for Conservation Social Science Research at the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute in Gainesville, FL invites applications for an OPS Assistant Research Scientist to coordinate and participate in qualitative research on human-crocodile coexistence. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) with a 6-month appointment and a flexible start date.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of professional experience in a social science or human dimensions field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with two years of related experience or Master's degree substitute.
  • Master's degree may substitute for required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and participate in literature reviews for crocodile coexistence.
  • Conduct content analysis of media communications.
  • Interview Crocodile Response Agents (CRAs) to document communication strategies.
  • Prepare progress and final study reports under supervision.
  • Occasional overnight travel.
