The Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional functions as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team providing professional mental health services to prisoners with mental illness or disability. Responsibilities include mental health evaluations, referrals, monitoring progress, ensuring continuity of care, psychosocial assessments, interventions, consultations, and assisting with community discharge services.
Education
Possession of a master's degree in psychology, social work, or counseling.
Experience
Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional 9
No specific experience required.
Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional 10
One year of professional experience providing QMHP services equivalent to a Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional 9.
Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional P11
Two years of professional experience providing QMHP services, including one year equivalent to a Corrections Qualified Mental Health Professional 10.
Additional Requirements:
Possession of a Michigan license to practice as a psychologist, social worker, counselor, registered nurse, or other QMHP. Positions are drug-tested and may require pre- and post-employment testing.

Position located at Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility, Ionia, MI.
