Job summary

McHur Care is seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to provide Medicaid-aligned behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families in Amarillo and surrounding communities.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not a traditional employment position. You will work in community-based settings, delivering direct services and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Eligible for QMHP or QMHPCS designation.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, or families preferred.
• Ability to travel between approved service locations.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments within qualifications.
• Provide skills training, targeted case management, crisis intervention, and medication training.
• Develop and update crisis and safety plans.

QUALIFIED MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL (QMHP)

Amarillo Area | 1099 Independent Contractor

We are seeking a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to provide Medicaid-aligned behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families in Amarillo and surrounding communities.

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not an employment position.

About The Role

As a contracted QMHP, you will provide direct behavioral health services in community-based settings while meeting applicable documentation, payer, and compliance requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments when assigned and within your qualifications.
• Provide authorized skills training and development, targeted case management, crisis intervention, and medication training and support.
• Develop and update crisis and safety plans when clinically appropriate.
• Coordinate services with clients, caregivers, treatment team members, and community partners.
• Deliver face-to-face services in approved settings, including homes, schools, and community locations.
• Complete accurate progress notes, service records, and other required documentation within established timelines.
• Maintain professional and empathetic communication with clients, families, and community partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
• Eligible for designation as a QMHP or QMHPCS.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, or families is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based service model.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage required documentation and service timelines consistently.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between approved service locations.
• Bilingual English and Spanish skills are a plus.

COMPENSATION

Base Service Fee

• $25 to $28 per approved billable hour.
• Services must be properly documented, coded, and eligible for submission and approval.

Monthly Accelerator

• Earn an additional $4 to $9 per billable hour based on total monthly billable hours under the tiered accelerator model.

Mileage Support

• Monthly mileage support may be available when offered under the applicable compensation plan.
• Payments range from $100 to $800 per month based on verified eligible business mileage.
• Normal commuting mileage is excluded.

Ramp-Up Support

• Up to 45 days of time-limited ramp-up support may be available when eligibility requirements are met.

Additional Incentives

• A $50 client recruitment bonus may be available for each eligible new client enrolled with active insurance confirmation.

Compensation is governed by the applicable Contractor Agreement and Compensation Plan. Actual earnings depend on approved billable services, documentation quality and timeliness, and applicable incentive eligibility.

PAY SCHEDULE

McHur Care processes contractor payments semi-monthly:

• Services performed from the 1st through the 15th are paid on the 22nd.
• Services performed from the 16th through the final day of the month are paid on the 7th.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR INFORMATION

• This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement.
• Employee benefits are not provided.
• Nonbillable administrative time, travel time, and meetings are not separately compensated unless expressly included in the Compensation Plan or a signed written statement of work.
• Training and meeting opportunities may be offered. Participation is generally voluntary unless otherwise stated in the applicable agreement or requirements.
• Contractors are responsible for maintaining the transportation, availability, and documentation practices necessary to fulfill accepted service assignments.
