Job summary

The Qualified Mental Health Professional–Community Services (QMHP-CS) position provides mental health rehabilitative services and targeted case management to youth and adults. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health fields as defined in §412.316(d) or related fields.
• RN license in the State of Texas or
• Completion of an approved alternative credentialing process recognized by the department.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted case management and skills training to youth and adults.
• Provide psychosocial rehabilitative services, medication training and support as needed.
• Offer supportive counseling, behavioral and emotional management, and solution-focused interventions.
• Participate in crisis intervention under supervision to ensure safety and de-escalation.
• Complete documentation, including progress notes, within 24 hours of service delivery.
• Document phone contacts, telehealth sessions, and communication with client supports.
• Assist in treatment planning and service reviews with Program Manager and LPHA.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and weekly supervision.
• Work with a coordinated care team to ensure continuity of services.
• Provide services during flexible hours, including evenings or weekends.
• Participate in on-call crisis rotation and maintain annual training compliance.

Position Summary

The Qualified Mental Health Professional–Community Services (QMHP-CS) provides mental health rehabilitative services and targeted case management to youth and adults. The individual in this role works under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) and Program Director, offering direct support, skill development, and therapeutic interventions that encourage growth and stability in daily life.

Qualifications

The QMHP-CS must meet one of the following:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with coursework equivalent to a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, counseling, sociology, rehabilitation, special education, early childhood education, gerontology, human growth and development, or related behavioral health fields as defined in §412.316(d), OR

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas, OR

Completion of an approved alternative credentialing process as recognized by the department.

Reliable transportation and active auto insurance are required

Key Responsibilities

Provide targeted case management and skills training services to youth and adults.
