Job summary

Silver Birch Living in Hammond, Indiana is seeking a compassionate Qualified Medication Assistant (QMA) to join our Clinical Team. You will support residents’ health, safety, and daily care needs by assisting with medications and personal care, helping ensure residents feel cared for, respected, and supported every day.

You’ll work with the Wellness team to adminster medications, document care, and respond to resident needs, while maintaining a resident-centered approach and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior healthcare or senior living experience helpful.
• QMA certification in good standing required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily care needs and ADLs.
• Administer, monitor, and document medications per plan.
• Observe and report condition changes to Wellness Nurse.
• Document care in the electronic health record accurately.
• Respond promptly to call lights and requests.
• Provide friendly, respectful service to residents and families.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist residents with daily care needs, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), following individualized care plans
• Administer, monitor, and document medications and treatments as directed, within your scope of practice
• Observe residents and report changes in condition to the Wellness Nurse and clinical team
• Document care and services accurately in the electronic health record
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests
• Provide friendly, respectful customer service to residents, families, and team members
• Work closely with the Wellness team to support overall clinical operations and resident needs

What We’re Looking For

• A high school diploma or GED
• Prior healthcare or senior living experience is helpful
• A current QMA certification in good standing
• Insulin certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
• Ability to maintain required training and certifications
• A compassionate, resident-centered approach to care
• Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail
• Comfort using electronic documentation systems
