Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Fully Qualified Line Mechanic in Newtown, CT to perform construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system. This role requires at least one year of experience and the ability to climb poles with Lineman’s climbers, as well as directing the work of others when needed.

The position requires a CDL or the ability to obtain one and a clean driving record. Overtime and emergency work are possible, and you must live within one hour of the reporting location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL preferred and clean driving record.
• Physically able to perform the essential duties described above.
• Able to interact, communicate, and direct the work of others.
• Available to perform overtime and emergency work and live within one hour of the reporting location.

Responsibilities

• Construct, operate, and maintain the electric system.
• Work aloft on electric utility poles or on ground structures; install, repair, and maintain lines and equipment.
• Climb poles skillfully with Lineman’s climbers and direct the work of others when assigned.
• Respond to trouble calls and be available at the reporting base within about a half hour.
