QMHP-CS I/II-Caseworker I/II/Housing Navigator (Waco, TX)

The Housing Navigator will work closely with area Continuum of Care agencies to locate housing for homeless individuals. Locating appropriate housing can be difficult. Being low-income, homeless and disabled makes the process even more difficult. The Housing Navigator will walk the consumer through the process of locating and applying for appropriate housing. They will follow the consumer from the time they are approved for a supported housing program up until their lease signing. The Housing Navigator will also act as liaison between area landlords and the Continuum of Care to develop relationships to increase the availability of affordable housing. They will also respond to concerns a landlord may have with a consumer in one of the Continuum of Care housing programs.

Education and Experience
  • This position requires the applicant to have, at minimum, a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Once year case management Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • The position requires a working knowledge of mental illness its impact on homelessness.
  • The successful transition from homelessness will require the Housing Navigator to be flexible, creative with resources, and think outside of the box.
  • This position will require excellent computer skills for clinical documentation.
  • This position will require excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • The Housing Navigator must have and maintain a level of general health that permits the performance of the job duties.
  • Must have excellent verbal/written communication.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational/filing skills.
  • Must have valid TX DL and current auto insurance.
  • Must be able to transport clients. Local travel 60% Reginal travel 10%
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Salary: $45,000-$52,965 Annually; $21.6346-$25.4639 Hourly **Depending on education and experience**
