Job summary

Morning Breeze Retirement Community & Healthcare Center in Greensburg, Indiana is seeking a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to join our compassionate care team. You will dispense, administer, monitor, and document medications as prescribed by the nursing plan of care and in accordance with facility policy.

You will report patient status to the nursing supervisor and collaborate with staff to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Medication aides provide medications and treatments under nursing plan of care.
• Accurate reporting of patient condition to supervisors and team.
• Perform tasks within scope of practice and facility policies.

Responsibilities

• Dispense, administer, monitor and document medications as prescribed by licensed provider.
• Report patient status and changes to supervising staff.
• Perform duties consistent with education, knowledge, and facility guidelines.

MUST BE A QUALIFIED MEDICATION AIDE IN THE STATE OF INDIANA.

SUMMARY:

Medication Aides are responsible for providing services to patients as directed by the nursing plan of care and/or nursing supervisor.

• Responsible for dispensing, administration, monitoring and documentation of medications and treatments as prescribed by authorized healthcare provider and in accordance with scope of practice and facility policy
• Responsible for reporting on the condition of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor and other staff members.
• Responsible for performing tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation, knowledge, and permitted by the policies and procedures of Kirtland, and other local, state, and federal guidelines; and the policies of the facility requesting the services.

REQUIRMENTS:

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Certified and actively listed with the State Board of Nursing in the state in which employed and able to pass a practical and written competency test.
