Job summary

Magnolia Health Systems is seeking compassionate Qualified Medication Aides to join the team at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Centre in Portland, Indiana. In this role, you will perform essential medication administration tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer prescribed oral medications to residents.
• Administer oral PRN drugs authorized by a licensed nurse.
• Take and record appropriate vital signs as required before administering medications.

Qualified Medication Aides are valuable members of our health care team who work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform skilled nursing care tasks as assigned according to plan of care.

Annual Wage Scale: $38,480 - $58,240

Shift: FT 2-10P or 10A-10P

About the Role:

Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Centre is seeking Qualified Medication Aides to perform essential medication administration tasks.

• Prepare and administer safely and document regularly prescribed oral medications to residents.
• Administer as allowed oral PRN drugs when authorized by a licensed nurse.
• Understand that injectable medications must always be given by a licensed nurse.
• Demonstrate knowledge that the telephone or verbal orders may never be accepted by a QMA.
• Understand and demonstrate knowledge that appropriate vital signs will be taken and recorded as required before administering certain medications.

About you:

The ideal candidate would have the following skills and experience:

• Must be certified as Qualified Medication Aide in the State of Indiana.
• Must complete a State approved training program in medication administration.
• Must possess a current health certificate/examination as required by State agencies.
• Must perform only those duties that were taught in the approved training program.
