Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Data Engineer III in the Washington, DC area to design, develop, and deploy scalable data solutions that drive business insights and efficiency. The role involves building data pipelines, data structuring, and ensuring data quality across the data lifecycle.

The candidate should have 5+ years in data engineering or ETL, hands-on Spark/Databricks and Qlik Sense experience, and a US Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data integration
• 2+ years of experience with Spark, Databricks, or distributed data processing frameworks
• 2+ years of experience developing interactive dashboards and data visualizations in Qlik Sense, including data modeling, scripting, dashboard design, and performance optimization
• Must possess an active U.S. Secret security clearance and be able to maintain it for the duration of employment and assignment
• Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex financial and operational data into executive-level briefings and compelling data stories.
• Build automated data pipelines that improve reporting consistency, accuracy, and speed to insight.
• Develop standardized metrics and analytical products for Navy Secretariat Comptroller and Resource Directorate initiatives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to federal stakeholders by delivering actionable analysis and recommendations.
• Create executive-ready reports and automated decision-support dashboards.
• Support financial execution by monitoring obligation benchmarks and identifying performance gaps.
