Job summary

Gulf Coast Blood Center is seeking a Quality & Control Technician I to prepare and test samples from blood components, ensuring products meet quality standards. The role involves collaboration with internal and external customers and adherence to safety and SOPs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of laboratory experience or equivalent education/experience.
• No certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare platelet samples for qualification determination.
• Perform bacterial contamination testing on platelet products.
• Enter and document test results in laboratory systems.
• Collect and prepare red blood cell products for quality control testing.
• Conduct CLIA moderate complexity proficiency testing in compliance with standards.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance and quality control checks.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with SOPs and projects.
