Job summary

Gulf Coast Blood in Houston, TX is seeking a Quality & Control Technician I to prepare platelet and red blood cell samples for quality testing and data entry of results. You will perform bacterial contamination testing, operate laboratory instruments, maintain SOPs, and support routine maintenance while collaborating with customers and staff in a fast-paced, life-saving environment.

This full-time role requires strong communication, accuracy, and adherence to safety policies in a donor

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of lab-related experience or equivalent education.
• Proficient in reading safety rules, SOPs, and performing tests.

Responsibilities

• Sample preparation for quality testing and data entry of results.
• Conduct bacterial contamination testing on platelet products.
• Enter test results accurately in laboratory systems.
• Support routine instrument maintenance and inventory checks.
• Assist with SOP reviews and laboratory projects.
