Job summary

Martin Marietta's Blue Ridge Quarry in Virginia seeks a QC Technician to perform routine laboratory testing and sampling of aggregate materials under supervision. The role requires travel to various locations and a commitment to safety and quality.

The position calls for a high school diploma or GED plus two years' QC experience (preferred) and a technical degree. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in quality control in an aggregate or construction environment preferred.
• Technical degree preferred.
• State certification for aggregate field and laboratory testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sample and test aggregate materials to prescribed standards.
• Set up, adjust and operate lab equipment (agitators, scales, ovens, etc.).
• Collect material samples from production facilities (conveyors, stockpiles, rail cars, customer sites).
• Report test results internally and externally (DOT and customers as required).
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment; keep data files and records in AggQC or forms.
• Assist in training co-workers and resolve customer technical problems with designated personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
