Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is hiring a Utility Person/QC Specialist in Low Moor, VA. The role involves safe operation of plant equipment, routine maintenance, and sampling/testing of aggregate materials in the lab.

You will support production, loading, and shipping, maintain cleanliness and safety at the site, and assist with training and QA activities as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and experience in building materials is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Experience in the building materials industry preferred.
• Safety‑conscious and dependable with ability to perform lab testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on plant equipment and operate machinery safely.
• Sample and test aggregate material in the laboratory and record results.
• Maintain housekeeping and inspect equipment and logs daily.
• Assist production, loading, shipping, and QA activities as needed.
• Train visitors and ensure site guidelines are followed.
• Communicate test results to internal teams and customers.
