Job summary

General Summary

This position is responsible for sampling, testing, and inspecting construction materials or elements in a laboratory or field setting to ensure compliance with the supplier and/or owner specifications.

Essential Job Accountabilities
  • Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products
  • Obtain and maintain certifications as required to perform testing.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of specifications, testing and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to communicate and schedule QC activities with crew and inspection personnel.
  • Ability to interpret specifications and discuss/argue with crew and inspection staff.
  • Ability to make decisions based on knowledge of specifications and testing requirements.
  • Interprets engineering drawings to make sure work is being performed in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Collect material samples, send samples to lab, interpret test results and distribute information to crews and inspection staff.
  • Maintain all QC log books and reports in accordance with specifications.
  • Follow all OSHA and Company safety policies and procedures, including attendance at safety meetings
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Education
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
Work Experience
  • 4+ years of related experience required
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Basic computer skills, intermediate proficiency in Excel
