Overview

Location: Olathe, KS

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team. As a Quality Control Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of products produced at our plant. Your primary focus will be on conducting thorough quality control inspections, analyzing samples, and implementing corrective actions to maintain high product standards. If you have a strong background in quality control processes, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for maintaining product integrity, we want to hear from you!

The Quality Control Technician position is based out of our Olathe, KS quarry. Coverage includes the Olathe, Lone Elm, and Eudora quarries as well as customer locations on an as needed basis. Our main lab is in Louisburg, KS. On the job training will be provided both at Olathe and in Louisburg for our specific testing that we conduct.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning of work areas, including 5S.
  • Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.
  • Driving 130-220 miles daily in company vehicle
  • Lifting 50-70 pounds to chest height multiple times daily
  • Building good relationships with customers and State technicians
  • Time management
  • Cleaning Lab building and general 5s duties
  • Maintaining lab equipment
  • Data entry
  • Finding specifications and testing methods on the computer
  • Emailing results of testing to both internal and external people

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical or vocational training in quality control or a related field is preferred.
  • One to three years of related experience as a Quality Control Technician in the sand or construction materials industry, preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality control principles, practices, and testing methods.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment and instruments used in quality control, such as sieves, balances, and moisture meters.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and record-keeping.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify minor deviations or inconsistencies in product quality.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement corrective actions.
  • Flexibility to work in different shifts, including some Saturdays, if required.
