Job summary

Actalent is hiring a QC Technician in Eau Claire, WI for a contract-to-hire role focused on laboratory testing and quality control in a food manufacturing setting.

You will perform analytical tests, document results, and support GLP and safety standards while collaborating with Quality and Operations teams to ensure product safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or related Life Science, or relevant lab experience.
• Foundational lab knowledge with willingness to learn new testing methods and instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately follow testing procedures and document results.
• Prior QC/QA, GMP, or food manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Test incoming materials, in-process samples, finished products, water, and environmental samples.
• Perform physical and analytical testing with pH meters, FTIR, XRF, and other lab equipment.
• Document and communicate laboratory results accurately.
• Prepare and coordinate samples for external lab testing.

• Support equipment checks, calibrations, and lab organization.
• Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to ensure product safety and quality.
• Gain exposure to additional testing methods as capabilities expand.

QC Technician

Job Description Build hands-on experience in laboratory testing, quality control, and food manufacturing as a Quality Control Technician. This role is ideal for someone with a science background who is detail-oriented, enjoys hands-on lab work, and is interested in growing their technical skills within Quality.

What Youll Do

• Test incoming materials, in-process samples, finished products, water, and environmental samples.
• Perform physical and analytical testing using equipment such as pH meters, FTIR, XRF, conductivity meters, and sieve shakers .
• Accurately document and communicate laboratory results.
• Prepare and coordinate samples for testing at external laboratories.
• Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) , safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Support equipment checks, calibrations, and general laboratory organization.
• Work alongside Quality and Operations teams to help ensure product safety and quality.
• Gain exposure to additional testing methods as laboratory capabilities expand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, or a related Life Science , OR relevant quality/laboratory experience.
• Foundational laboratory or science knowledge with a willingness to learn new testing methods and instrumentation.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately follow testing procedures and document results.
• Previous laboratory, QC/QA, food manufacturing, or GMP experience is a plus .

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eau Claire, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
