Job summary

J.H. Rudolph & Co., a CRH Company, is seeking a QC/QA Lab Tech in Evansville, IN to support the lab manager in designing and implementing quality processes for hot mix asphalt.

You will assist in sampling, testing, data recording and maintaining safe lab practices across plant operations. The role emphasizes attention to detail, independent work, and willingness to complete INDOT/KYTC certifications within a year, with opportunities for professional growth and contributing to safety and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma minimum; degree preferred in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
• INDOT HMA Technician Certification within 1 year of employment.
• KYTC HMA Plant Technician Certification within 1 year of employment.
• KYTC Mix Design Technician Certification within 1 year of employment.
• Willingness to attend Asphalt Pavement Association meetings thru INDOT/KYTC.

Responsibilities

• Assist QC/QA Lab Manager in designing and implementing quality control operations.
• Sample, process and test HMA materials per AASHTO/ASTM/INDOT/KYTC/USACE/FAA guidelines.
• Maintain safety practices and proper documentation, including daily progress reports and QC charts.
• Communicate test results and recommendations to stakeholders and ensure spec compliance.
• Calibrate and maintain lab equipment; perform HMA mix designs and material testing.
• Support in reviewing contract documents and project scheduling related to QA/QC.
