Job summary

Fagron US is seeking a Microbiology Technician to support routine testing of finished compounded pharmaceutical products. You will ensure testing aligns with regulatory standards, quality control procedures, and safety guidelines.

The role emphasizes sample handling, documentation, and strict adherence to procedures in a cGMP environment. The successful candidate will have a relevant bachelor's degree, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain accuracy under long tasks and safety

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Prior experience in a pharmaceutical quality control or microbiology laboratory setting preferred, especially in environments regulated by cGMP standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to focus on detailed tasks and adhere to safety and quality protocols.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ensure integrity of testing, manufacturing, certification, and product release.

About the Job

The Microbiology Technician reports directly to the Laboratory Supervisor and plays a key role in the routine testing of finished compounded pharmaceutical products. This position ensures that all testing is conducted in compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and guidance of documents related to quality control and microbiological safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and prepare samples for microbiological analysis in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform media inspections and growth promotion testing.
  • Conduct bacterial endotoxin, particulate matter, sterility, and filter integrity testing, including method suitability studies.
  • Track and manage test samples to ensure accurate documentation and timely processing.
  • Support laboratory organization and cleanliness, including proper lab waste disposal and storage management.
  • Comply with all procedural and regulatory guidelines related to controlled substances.
  • Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and ensure the integrity of testing, manufacturing, certification, and product release processes.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and assist in training new employees on laboratory safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment at all times.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
