Clay Today is seeking a Quality Control Manager to ensure the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system in line with regulatory and certification requirements. The role oversees QC inspectors, internal audits, and documentation control.

The ideal candidate will have ISO Lead Auditor Certification and ISO 9000 standards knowledge, with strong communication and leadership skills to drive continuous improvement in a warehouse and office setting.

Qualifications

• ISO Lead Auditor Certification from an accredited organization.
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 family of standards.
• Advanced computer skills, especially Excel and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve Inspection Manuals for adequacy.
• Draft and verify the quality system manual against regulatory standards.
• Plan and complete Internal Audits.
• Lead training for Inspectors and Internal Auditors.
• Maintain quality records databases and documents.
• Analyze and report quality objective criteria.
• Lead MRB/QIT processes when quality issues arise.
• Serve as main point of contact for customer audits.

Job description

The Quality Control Manager ensures the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system as related to the regulatory and certification requirements of the organization. The QC Manager is also responsible for the quality management system procedures, in-process inspections, and final inspections.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides direct supervision to Quality Control Inspectors by performing such duties as determining employment status (i.e. hiring, terminating, promotions, issuing warnings, etc.), interviewing applicants, counseling, training, scheduling, resolving conflicts, coordinating with other departments, conducting employee meetings, recommending wage increases, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Reviewing and approving Inspection Manuals for adequacy
• Drafting and verifying the quality system manual against applicable regulatory, statutory, and certificated standards
• Identifying areas of improvement
• Planning and completing Internal Audits
• Training Inspectors and Internal Auditors
• Verifying and maintaining quality record(s) databases and hard copy documents
• Establishing, analyzing, posting and reporting of the quality objective criteria
• Creating workmanship standards to address trending nonconformances
• Writing corrective actions for internal nonconformances and supplier nonconformances
• Communicating customer corrective actions to Upper Management
• Oversees the nonconformance reporting processes
• Participates in the review of all design, manufacturing, purchasing and test documentation to assure conformance to the quality standard
• Main point of contact for all customer audits
• Implements and monitors document control procedures
• Preparing and leading the Quality Management Review Meetings
• Chartering the MRB or QIT when a quality system process or procedure is adversely affecting the quality management system

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment

The work performed is in a warehouse and office environment. The employee is frequently exposed to vibrations and dust and will be working around moving machinery. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels.
