Job summary

Capex Construction is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) to lead the quality program on Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal healthcare construction projects across the western United States.

Ideal candidates will have deep experience implementing federal QC programs, coordinating inspections, managing documentation, and ensuring performance in occupied healthcare environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction quality control or superintendent experience.
• Ability to travel full-time.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods.
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Procore and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage the project Quality Control Plan.
• Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections.
• Coordinate and document quality control meetings.
• Review plans, specifications, submittals, and RFIs for compliance.
• Verify installation meets contract requirements and manufacturer standards.
• Track and manage deficiencies, punch lists, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing, inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain quality control reports and project documentation.
• Interface directly with VA staff, CORs, COs, inspectors, and design teams.
• Verify subcontractor compliance with project quality requirements.
• Assist project teams with project closeout and turnover documentation.
• Support schedule and construction planning activities as needed.
