Job Description:

Apex Systems is recruiting for an immediate need for a QC Lab Technician with one of our clients near Pittsburgh, PA. This candidate will work Monday through Friday. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the processing of samples delivered to the laboratory in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. The position will be either 2nd or 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Conduct lab tests such as viscosity, oxidation, acid/base tests, IR, physical, Karl Fisher, and X-ray.
• Perform manufacturing tests as outlined in the Laboratory Procedures Manual.
• Determine and record adjustments for off-test products.
• Approve on-test materials and communicate approvals to relevant personnel.
• Maintain accurate and legible laboratory quality records, including Control Charts.
• Maintain files of all inbound C/A’s.
• Participate in quality training programs as required.
• Use statistical methods to review blend data when applicable.
• Operate in a safe manner at all times, correcting unsafe conditions or reporting them to your supervisor.
• Perform lab blends as required.
• Operate the switchboard.

Required skills:

• AS or BS in Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
• Previous laboratory or bench experience required.
