Kalivir Immunotherapeutics is developing a new class of optimized, multi-mechanistic cancer immunotherapies, and we are committed to creating a best-in-class immuno-oncology platform to help patients across the globe beat cancer. Our products are cutting-edge viral-based cancer immunotherapies currently in clinical trials. We are a growing biotechnology startup company based in Pittsburgh, PA.

We are seeking a Quality Control (QC) Laboratory Technician to join our growing team! This position will be responsible for supporting cGMP and research laboratory assays and administrative duties related to our novel cancer therapies. The QC Laboratory Technician will join a small, dedicated team, allowing focused and ambitious individuals to learn new and important skills and advance as our company grows.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Support the development, feasibility, and qualification of novel assays, including cGMP methods.
  2. Perform basic analytical assays and lab procedures.
  3. Analyze data, QA/QC, and compile project reports.
  4. Perform assigned assays following SOPs and good documentation practices (GDPs).
  5. Utilize electronic laboratory notebooks.
  6. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance, quality, continuous improvement, and timely implementation of document change controls and requests.
  7. Communicate issues, risks, and proposed solutions within the organization.
  8. Collaborate and support colleagues across the organization.
  9. Maintain and manage equipment calibration, maintenance, and logs.
  10. Train on and follow all general and laboratory SOPs.
  11. Perform laboratory maintenance and record keeping according to guidelines and SOPs.

A Successful Candidate:

  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, flexible, diligent with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possesses knowledge of quality control processes and has strong data management and data analysis skills.
  • Possesses general knowledge of good laboratory practices (cGLP/cGMP), aseptic and cell culture techniques, good documentation practices, and biological assay analyses.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, and team-oriented environment.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team; capable of building strong internal and external working relationships.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Ability to use or learn to use technical laboratory instrumentation and record data accurately.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in biotechnology, biology, biochemistry, or pharmaceutical manufacturing required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience working in a quality control or analytical laboratory setting is preferred.
