Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Clinical Diagnostics Division seeks a QC Supervisor to lead the Quality Control laboratory at the Middletown, VA site. You will manage staff, set priorities, and ensure testing is accurate and timely in a cGMP environment.

Working cross-functionally with QA, Manufacturing, Engineering and Validation, you will support product release, investigations, and continuous improvement, while maintaining inspection readiness and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field.
• 5+ years of QC laboratory experience in a regulated industry.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP, Good Documentation Practices, and data integrity.
• Experience with laboratory investigations, deviations, CAPAs, and change controls.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and develop QC laboratory personnel.
• Coordinate daily testing priorities and laboratory workload.
• Review and approve laboratory data and controlled documentation.
• Support product release, environmental monitoring, and routine QC testing.
• Lead or support OOS, OOT, deviation, and laboratory investigations.
• Support CAPAs, change controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure laboratory equipment, training, and documentation remain compliant.
• Maintain inspection readiness and support internal and regulatory audits.
• Monitor laboratory performance, turnaround time, and key quality metrics.
• Partner with QA, Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, and other departments.
