Job summary

Chromalloy Corporation is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform visual inspections and ensure parts meet specifications. You will use calipers, micrometers, CMMs and other tools, read blueprints, and document findings accurately.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to work with standard office software. A GED or high school diploma is required, with 1–3 years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience/training or equivalent combination.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to use standard measuring tools accurately.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD/GeoMagic.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of parts/materials for cosmetic non-conformances.
  • Inspect for damaged material, nicks, burrs and process errors.
  • Use calipers, micrometers and other measuring tools.
  • Read blueprints and interpret measurement requirements.
  • Set up and run CMM in manual mode.
  • Read and interpret simple instructions and memos.

Summary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs visual inspection of parts/ material for cosmetic non-conformances
  • Inspecting parts / material for damaged material, nicks, raised material, burrs and assembly process errors.
  • Capability to use all standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, plugs and thread gages.
  • Ability to use instruments such as optical comparator, height gage and transfer stand with dial indicator.
  • Able to set up and run CMM in manual mode.
  • Ability to read blue prints

Education And Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCad / GeoMagic.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
