Job summary

Sunrider Manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to test and inspect products at various production stages. You will compile statistical data to maintain quality and reliability, and work with production staff to ensure clean equipment and adherence to GMPs.

The role involves evaluating test results, preparing reports, and supporting cross-training across departments. A high school diploma or GED, plus related experience, are typical requirements.

Qualifications

• Language skills: ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures; write routine reports; speak effectively before groups.
• Mathematical skills: ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Computer skills: knowledge of database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
• Reasoning ability: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems with several variables.

Responsibilities

• Interpret routing sheets, artwork, and specs; confer with management to determine quality standards.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of production equipment before startup.
• Select products for tests at stages in production; test for moisture, pH, organoleptic properties.
• Record test data; apply statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluate data and write reports indicating deviations from standards.
• Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests to measure performance.
• Monitor GMP compliance and report infractions.
• Cross-trained in other departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Essential duties are performed with minimal supervision.

• Interprets discrete job routing sheet , artwork, and specifications and confers with management or other staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
• Works with production personnel to ensure cleanliness/sanitation of production equipment prior to production startup.
• Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as moisture, pH, organoleptic attributes, etc.
• Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
• Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance.
• Oversees Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and reports any infractions to the appropriate Supervisor/Manager.
• Crossed trained in other departments.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may assist with the training of other Quality Control Inspectors.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization .

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Reasoning Ability
