Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a QA Inspector for Wichita, KS, to perform first article inspections and oversee in-process and final inspections of machined parts. The role requires GD&T application, CMM operation, and participation in AS9100/aerospace quality processes.

Candidates should have 5+ years in aerospace inspection, 3+ years in aerospace QA, and experience with AS9102 and MRB/NCMR handling. Proficiency with precision tools is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform first article inspections per AS9102 using micrometers, calipers, CMM and other tools.
• Inspect finished machined parts including in-process from first piece to final inspection.
• Support AS9100 and customer audits.
• Perform root-cause analyses for non-conformances (NCMRs/RMAs).
• Operate CMM and other measurement/inspection tools; use Verisurf as needed.

Job Details

Job Location: Legal Address - Wichita, KS, Salary Range: $20.00 - $26.00Hourly, Job Category: QA - Quality Control, Responsible for a wide range of inspection functions supporting sheet metal, assembly and machining operations without direct supervision. Interprets drawings, specifications, GD&T, MRB inputs and quality standards to perform and document inspection functions, including First Article Inspection Reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform first article inspections on machined parts per AS9102 using micrometers, calipers, CMM and other measurement devices while working in compliance with AS9100 standards
• Conduct inspection of finished machined parts; include in-process from first piece to final inspection
• Working knowledge of conventional inspection tools and gauges such as: micrometers, calipers, thread gauges
• Participate in audits for AS9100 and Customers
• Perform analytical investigations and develop root cause for non-conformance NCMRs and RMAs
• Set up and operate CMM, as well as other measurement/inspection tools (Verisurf is a plus)
• Prepare product and inspection data for customer source inspection events; present product for buy-off and re-verify characteristics as requested by the Customer Representative
• Mentor Level I Inspectors on inspection methods and documentation
• Communicates with internal customers
• Miscellaneous tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an aerospace/aircraft environment
• Minimum 3 years Quality Inspection aerospace/aircraft
• GD&T tolerance application
• Inspection of machined parts

Requirements

• Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools/equipment including but not limited to caliper, micrometer, height gage, hardness and conductivity
• Familiar with surface finish, edge preparation and general appearance of machined parts
• Familiar with outside processing certifications
• Proficient with Engineering drawings/models
• Computer literate
• Understanding of GD&T tolerance
• Basic knowledge of CATIA
• Set up and operate a CMM
• Basic understanding of CNC machining
• Understanding AS9100/QMS
• Perform audits and report findings
• Perform RCCA to solve issues using Lean Manufacturing tools
• Understanding and performing FAIRs per AS9102 (Net-Inspect is a plus)
• MRB participation
