Job summary

Belvac is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform diverse inspections in our Lynchburg facility. You will follow approved procedures to inspect parts at receipt, in-process, first piece, final, and during assembly, with process surveillance duties to ensure quality.

The role requires basic math, GD&T understanding, and proficiency with basic measuring tools and PC software. All candidates should be able to work shift cycles and travel if needed.

Qualifications

• Able to perform basic inspection using micrometers, calipers, indicators and basic hand gauges.
• Basic blueprint reading
• Basic math skills
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

• IFS & Receipt inspection databases
• Performing inquiries on ERP systems
• Perform and document process surveillance activities

Primary Responsibilities

• It is every BPM, Inc. Employee’s responsibility to be aware of and work with Belvac’s current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements
• Perform a wide range of inspection functions in accordance with approved procedures and/or instructions. These functions include but may not be limited to:
• Receipt Inspection to include staging of parts and materials
• In Process Inspections
• First piece
• Final
• Final Inspection
• Assembly Inspection
• Process Surveillances
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Knowledge Required to Perform Job:

Education

• High school graduate or GED

Experience

• 2 years of experience as a quality inspector in a manufacturing environment or machinist. Equivalent education may be acceptable in lieu of experience.
• Ability to work all shifts and travel on a continuous seven-day work cycle if needed
• A working knowledge of Mathematics, Geometry and Trigonometry
• Basic CMM skills
• Visual acuity to perform inspection, read gauging and perform visual inspections

Physical Activities Required To Perform Job

• Manual lifting may be required of items up to 35 pounds. (proper lifting techniques)
• Extended periods of time standing.
• Must be able to bend and kneel freely.
