Job summary

P&E Constructors is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to ensure project quality across nationwide assignments. This night shift role involves heavy travel (up to 90%) with per diem support.

You will inspect materials, in-process products, and finished goods, maintain documentation, and work with production teams to uphold ASME/AWS standards across projects. We offer per diem, mobilization assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package as part of our ESOP-driven team

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of Heavy Industrial Construction experience.
• Preference to AWS CWI or Level II VT Certifications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organization and attention to detail is a must.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks as needed in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
• Experience in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and Procore.
• Knowledge of ASME and AWS codes of construction.

Responsibilities

• Completes and implements Site Specific Quality Plan
• Deliverables are submitted safely, with high quality and on time
• Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications
• Inspects all Owner supplied and purchased engineered equipment and instrumentation
• Supports Vendor and Subcontractor Back charge process with inspections and records
• Oversees project surveillance and overall documentation
• Creates and maintains quality documentation
• Ensure companies and subcontractors are in compliance with applicable permits, licensing, and codes
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records of quality control activities
• Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary
• Assist in the development and maintenance of quality management systems to enhance overall product quality
• Participate in internal audits and assist in preparing for external audits related to quality standards

P&E Constructors is an employee-owned (ESOP) mechanical and electrical construction firm executing large capital projects with deep roots in the industrial construction sector. Since 1946, we’ve delivered fabrication and installation services with a commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and client-focused solutions.

This role supports projects across the United States and requires a high level of travel based on business and project needs. Candidates may be based anywhere within the U.S.; however, the selected individual should be prepared for assignments at various project locations nationwide.

Travel for this position may reach up to approximately 90% .

Project assignments generally last 10 to 17 months, depending on project duration and operational requirements. While assigned to a project away from home, eligible employees are provided per diem to assist with temporary living and travel-related expenses, in addition to a competitive base salary.

To support project deployment, mobilization assistance may be provided, which can include mileage reimbursement or other approved travel support. Employees may also receive extended weekend rotations approximately once per month, allowing additional time for travel home.

Compensation

• The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

• Salary Range: $35.00 - $54.00 per hour
