Job summary

Abbott in Westford, MA is seeking a QC Inspector to perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on purchased materials, components, and finished products. The role supports supplier quality engineering with inspection data and SOPs, and involves heavy use of SAP for incoming material QC requirements.

Responsibilities include testing, data collection, and trend analysis, with potential training of other staff. The position is onsite for a 6-month duration, starting soon.

Qualifications

• Experience performing quality control inspections on materials and products.

Job description

Job Title: QCInspector

Location: Westford, MA 01886

Duration: 6 months

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Position Summary

Performs inspection and testing of purchased materials, components, and products in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists Supplier Quality Engineering with technical inspection support.

Essential Functions

• Performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspection and testing according to documented policies and procedures.
• Records inspection and test data as prescribed by written instructions and procedures.
• Operates all associated test and measurement equipment as instructed and documented in procedures.
• Supports validation and qualification activities.
• Develops and recommends changes to inspection procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in SAP with respect to incoming material QC requirements.
• Recommends changes to policies, procedures, and inspection requirements.
• Collects and analyzes data for First Article Inspections (FAI).
• Performs testing and inspection in accordance with special test requests.
• Contributes to test and measurement equipment selection.
• Interfaces with suppliers as required in support of material quality and technical inspection.
• May train other inspection staff on the use of equipment.
• Assists in gathering, analyzing, and trending data.

Additional Responsibilities

• Performs miscellaneous duties and work assignments as required.
