This role travels up to 90% across the United States, supporting sites nationwide, with per diem and a competitive base salary. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in heavy industrial construction and AWS CWI or Level II VT certification.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of Heavy Industrial Construction experience.
  • AWS CWI or Level II VT Certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organization and attention to detail is a must.
  • Knowledge of ASME and AWS codes.
  • Experience with QA documentation and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Completes and implements Site Specific Quality Plan.
  • Deliverables submitted with high quality and on time.
  • Inspects incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Inspects all Owner supplied and purchased equipment and instrumentation.
  • Supports vendor/subcontractor back-charge process with inspections.
  • Maintains quality documentation and records.

Job description

P&E Constructors is an employee-owned (ESOP) mechanical and electrical construction firm executing large capital projects with deep roots in the industrial construction sector. Since 1946, we’ve delivered fabrication and installation services with a commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and client-focused solutions.

This role supports projects across the United States and requires a high level of travel based on business and project needs. Candidates may be based anywhere within the U.S.; however, the selected individual should be prepared for assignments at various project locations nationwide.

Travel for this position may reach up to approximately 90% .

Project assignments generally last 10 to 17 months, depending on project duration and operational requirements. While assigned to a project away from home, eligible employees are provided per diem to assist with temporary living and travel-related expenses, in addition to a competitive base salary.

To support project deployment, mobilization assistance may be provided, which can include mileage reimbursement or other approved travel support. Employees may also receive extended weekend rotations approximately once per month, allowing additional time for travel home.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector with industrial experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our jobs meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with industry regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of quality assurance processes. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections, documenting findings, and collaborating with production teams to maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Completes and implements Site Specific Quality Plan
  • Deliverables are submitted safely, with high quality and on time
  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Inspects all Owner supplied and purchased engineered equipment and instrumentation
  • Supports Vendor and Subcontractor Back charge process with inspections and records
  • Oversees project surveillance and overall documentation
  • Creates and maintains quality documentation
  • Ensure companies and subcontractors are in compliance with applicable permits, licensing, and codes
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records of quality control activities
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality management systems to enhance overall product quality
  • Participate in internal audits and assist in preparing for external audits related to quality standards
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of Heavy Industrial Construction experience
  • Preference to AWS CWI or Level II VT Certifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organization and attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks as needed
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced fabrication environment
  • Experience in Microsoft office, Bluebeam Revu, and Procore
  • Knowledge of ASME and AWS codes of construction

  • The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
