Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role requires proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, conducting precise measurements, programming CMMs, and documenting inspection plans. CMM programming experience is required, though not necessarily in CMM Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to verify conformance to blueprint specifications and tolerance requirements.

  • Program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to support inspection needs.

  • Create and maintain documented inspection plans for new and existing parts.

  • Accurately generate and maintain inspection records, including spreadsheets and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

  • Clearly communicate nonconformances and findings to setup personnel and machine operators.

  • Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.

  • Ensure adherence to company safety procedures at all times.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical documentation.

  • Proficiency working in both Imperial and Metric units.

  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles.

  • Experience using and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)any software platform acceptable.

  • Skilled in the use of inspection equipment, including but not limited to:

    • CMM (manual and/or DCC)

    • Optical comparator

    • Microscope

    • Surface roughness tester

    • Calipers, micrometers, plug and ring gauges

  • Proficient in shop math, including trigonometry.

  • Effective communication skills to convey findings clearly and constructively.

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume environment.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience programming CMMs (any software).

  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).

  • Proficient with Windows-based PCs and Microsoft Excel.

:

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality systems.

  • Experience calibrating hand tools such as micrometers and thread gauges.

  • Experience with CMM Manager software is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Use of hands and fingers to handle or feel small to medium-sized parts (typically <15 lbs).

  • Must have good visual acuity, including close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support quality and production goals.
