Job summary

Smith Industries is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Quality team in Midland, TX. This role inspects materials, fabrication, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards, while promoting a safe work environment.

The position involves performing in-process and final inspections, reviewing ITPs and quality documents, and communicating nonconformances for corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Knowledge of measuring tools and inspection techniques.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with industry standards (AWS, ASME, API) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Inspect materials, welds, dimensions, and finished products using inspection tools.
• Review customer specifications, ITPs, and quality documentation.
• Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances and assist with corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality reports.
• Collaborate with production, customers, and third-party inspectors to meet quality expectations.
• Verify inspection equipment is calibrated and maintained.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE.
