Job summary

CNC Manufacturing is a leading precision machining company in Coatesville, PA. We seek a Quality Control Inspector to perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of tight-tolerance parts for defense and aerospace industries.

The ideal candidate has GD&T experience, reads blueprints, and can operate micrometers, calipers, and CMMs. High school diploma or GED required; 1 year of inspection experience preferred. Medical and retirement benefits available.

Responsibilities

• Ensure First Article Inspections (FAIs) are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform in-process SPC inspections at required frequencies and ensure timely completion.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections per drawings, specs, and customer requirements.
• Verify dimensions with appropriate equipment (CMMs, micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• Document inspection results and maintain records; raise quality concerns as needed.
• Maintain calibrated equipment and a clean, safe inspection area.

CNC Manufacturing is an industry leading expert in the precision machining of performance critical parts in diverse industries including defense and aerospace. The 37,000 sq. ft. climate-controlled facility in Coatesville, PA features some of the industry’s most technologically advanced machining and quality control equipment. We are looking for responsible Quality Control Inspectors to perform first article, in-process and final inspections of complex, tight tolerance, precision parts. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail, will be reliable, and committed to this position. An in-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards and measuring is essential as you will be a firm advocate of quality in our business.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure First Article Inspections (FAIs) are performed accurately and in a timely manner throughout the day.
• Perform in-process SPC inspections at the required frequencies and ensure inspections are completed on time.
• Perform thorough in-process and final inspections in accordance with applicable drawings, specifications, work instructions, inspection plans, and customer requirements.
• Verify product dimensions and characteristics using appropriate inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, pin gages, thread gages, optical equipment, CMMs, and other applicable measuring devices.
• Ensure inspection equipment and gages used at each workstation are appropriate for the characteristic being inspected and are within their required calibration period.
• Properly use, handle, and store inspection equipment to prevent damage and maintain measurement accuracy.
• Document inspection results and maintain required quality and inspection records.
• Communicate quality concerns, nonconforming conditions, or out-of-tolerance dimensions to the machine operator and/or appropriate department manager.
• Verify corrective adjustments when requested by re-inspecting affected characteristics before production continues.
• Assist in maintaining control of calibrated inspection equipment and report damaged, malfunctioning, or questionable equipment immediately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection/work area.

Educational Requirements

High School diploma or GED

Required Skills

• Must be able to read blueprints symbols and measurement procedures. (GD&T proficient)
• Proficient in working with common mechanical measurement tools and devices (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauge blocks, optical comparative, video ram, CMM, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
• Possess excellent written and verbal skills
• Have at least 1 year of experience in inspection of precision parts
• Have at least 1 year of GD&T experience.

Physical Requirements

• Some lifting of light to heavy weight materials up to 60 lbs.
• Some bending and stooping, pushing and pulling, standing and using hazardous chemicals
• Frequent standing
• Occasional climbing, reaching, upper body and arm rotation.
