Job summary

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions in Arab, AL is seeking a Quality Control Inspector I to perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections. You will apply GD&T principles, verify certifications, and maintain meticulous records in a fast-paced manufacturing environment near Huntsville.

No prior work experience is required; however, experience in a scientific field or quality inspection is preferred. This role supports production with a focus on accuracy and compliance with QMS procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in quality inspection and lean manufacturing preferred.
• Technical trade school or ASQ certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and attribute inspection of components and materials.
• Verify CMM and 2D reports; maintain accurate documentation.
• Identify non-conforming material and report via NCMRs/Red tags.
• Conduct First Article Inspections and in-process inspections as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Orchid QMS procedures and records.

They apply a working knowledge of GD&T principles and applications.WHAT YOU WILL DOPerform visual and attribute inspectionPull / Verify CMM Reports and 2D Matrix ReportsVerify certificationsOpen/Run Work To ListUtilize a basic understanding of visual management system (GYRO)Identify Non-Conforming Material with NCMRs and RedtagsComplete All InspectionsInspect Laser PatternsComplete DHR ReviewEnsure compliance to Orchid requirements in inspection and record keeping. Collect inspection data and report results.Maintain accurate documentation at all times during the manufacturing and inspection process per Good Manufacturing Practices.Perform complete Device History Record review including inspection documentationEnsure all raw materials received meet specifications.Perform testing and inspection at various stages of production, including visual and dimensional inspectionEnsure customer specifications and other applicable internal external requirements are followed.Use handheld inspection tools for measurement purposes, such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, optical comparator, gage blocks, and dial indicators.Conduct physical inspection of product with gauging such as: Thread gages, plug gages, pin gages, functional gages.Perform visual and/or cosmetic inspection of product following applicable procedure(s) using appropriate light sources.
