Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking a Heavy Civil Construction Engineer to join its Texas team as a Field Engineer. You will collaborate with superintendents, surveyors, and subcontractors to develop submittals, work plans and schedules for heavy concrete formwork, mass concrete, steel erection, earthwork, and commissioning.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, environment and production planning in both office and field settings, supporting project success across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• 0–2 years of estimating, engineering, or field support experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office and AGTEK Take-off software.
• Ability to read drawings and apply specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality control inspection and manage subcontracted QC technicians.
• Participate in work planning and scheduling to meet Contract requirements.
• Review work plans and submittals for contract compliance; support submittal process to the Owner.
• Prepare daily submittals of quality tests, inspections, and activity reports using the project system.
• Assist with job controls to ensure budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
