Job summary

Excelsior Nutrition Inc. is seeking a QC Chemist responsible for sampling and testing raw materials, mid-production items, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.

The role involves evaluating materials and applying laboratory procedures to generate reliable data in a contract manufacturing environment for dietary supplements and sports nutrition products. The candidate will develop, validate, and document analytical methods; operate and maintain lab instruments; and

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biomedical or related field is required.
• Hands-on ICP-MS experience is a must; HPTLC and HPLC are a plus.
• ISO 17025 Lab Manager experience preferred.
• Strong background in Food Science and Chemistry is desirable.
• Experience in biotechnology or research laboratory is preferred.
• Proficiency in analytical chemistry principles.
• Proficient in spectroscopy, chromatography, and wet chemistry methods.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Familiarity with regulatory guidelines.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to laboratory protocols.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve the documentation for supplier qualification.
• Prepare compounds, test solutions, and reagents, then advise on test procedures.
• Determine relationships of chemical properties, composition, and structures.
• Develop, improve and customize equipment, products, formulas, analytical methods, and processes.
• Document findings in technical papers and reports, prepare specifications and testing standards.
• Clean and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Ensure technology is functioning correctly.
• Conduct quality control tests to prevent contamination of compounds or equipment.
• Order laboratory supplies and chemicals, monitor expiration dates.
• Follow all company and governmental safety procedures.
• Create thorough test reports and findings.
• Evaluate testing protocols and suggest improvements.
